Chapter 1
I lost a baby tooth that morning. It was wiggly when I poked it in the mirror. I even bled a little bit.
I washed my hands, got a tissue, and pulled. It took a few tries, but I got it.
I normally lose teeth in the bathroom. Most of the time it’s because I pull them, but one time it was because I slipped on a towel and hit my face on the side of the bathtub.
I lost two teeth that time. I think one of them was a grown up tooth.
Chapter 2
I poked at the hole with my finger while my mom and dad drove me to school. By then, it had stopped bleeding.
My mom looked over to make sure I had my backpack and my lunch. She did that because sometimes I forgot to bring them in, and then my teacher had to buy me lunch. Then my dad owed her money.
I unbuckled my seatbelt before the van was stopped. Then I jumped out with my backpack.
“Te amo,” my mom said. She always said that before blowing me a kiss.
I blew a kiss back to her, then closed the sliding door of the van. My dad frowned because he thought I slammed it too hard.
Chapter 3
My teacher, Miss Ellie, was helping Ashley David with her homework when I put my backpack on my hook.
I tried to sneak around them to get to my seat, but Miss Ellie’s behind was in my way. I had to walk all the way around the desk.
She never moved for me. Ashley David was her favorite.
I actually used to have a crush on Ashley David. I thought her blond hair was pretty when she wore it in a bow, but I knew my mom wouldn’t like her.
